5 Questions

Five questions for the final crit tomorrow that goes with the post just below this.

1. Should I try and animate individual pieces of the of idents, say the text for example? (Another idea is have the image turn upwards and then back showing a different direction.)
2. Does the white background work or does it need somthing more solid to help them stand out?
3. Are the audio piece (Context blog) relevant or are their other alternatives that could be suggested?
4. Are the simple colours affective, can you tell it has a metal brushed effect? (Gold with the Wall-E one?)
5. Should I bring more colour into my DVD and have an illustrative collecting of robots at the beginning?

  1. Your rationale is clear n the blog. You also responded well to the feedback from the previous crit.

Your audience was and still is clear and understood.

It would be nice to see the examples of workshop tutorial work on the blog as well as test videos.

You need to take a step back and look at your design development. The “Design Roughs” are stronger than what you have at the moment.

Also you either movement within the frame, cogs, lines, type or more imagery to break up the confusion of lines.

The ROY ident in particular is far to busy. Makes it very hard to look at and even pick up on the type. It does have the potential to be very good. Use the metallic backgrounds and maybe some dull metallic colours.

Just try reversing out the image, making tha background dark and the line light. It will make it easier for the viewer.

    Your schematic development is sound.
